The Right Read, Every Time

Whether it’s a 10-footer to win your first Green Jacket or a 6-footer to break 100 at your favorite golf club, the goal is always the same: Make or get close.

Sure, a win at the Masters will come with a bigger payday and slightly more glory, but the satisfaction of watching that ball fall into the cup is the same no matter the circumstances.

Before you can hoist that trophy in triumph, there’s one element to your game that you must first master - green reading.

Turf Talk with the Perfect Putter

Enough with the technique, it’s time to talk turf.

 

Golf just wouldn’t be the same without those closely mown, carefully manicured putting surfaces that we all hate to love and love to hate. Most players get caught up in how much slope and undulation is on a green, and rightfully so. When it matters most, you have to be totally dialed in on the break and speed (let’s hope you were able to warm up with your Perfect Putter before the round).

Introducing golf to young people can make an enormous impact on their lives into adulthood. Over time, it helps build character and foster key life skills that guide them to success in many areas of their lives.

But let’s face the facts: golf can be brutally difficult and can be seen as boring, which is a big reason many kids don’t take to the game at first. 

You want to get them involved, but be careful. All it takes is one bad experience to drive them away from the sport for a very long time.
